My quilting journey has been interesting and exciting. I have enjoyed having designs published in several quilting magazines. I also have been fortunate to work with several of the major manufacturers in designing quilts to introduce some of their new fabric lines. I find it challenging to work with fabrics that I normally wouldn’t have chosen myself. It has helped me to grow and widen my horizons. I also love a challenge. Some of my favorite quilts are a result of being forced outside the box with challenges. I recommend that you join in an occasional challenge with your guild, your mini group, or online quilting groups. They are fun and you’ll be surprised at the results you can achieve by trying something a little out of your comfort level. I have chosen a few of my designs, which show the variety of styles and techniques that I enjoy. |

Here is a recent photo of me, just prior to my 60th birthday. Yikes – how did that happen? The quilt in the background is Wisteria by Moonlight, one of the first I ever had published in The Quilter Magazine.

| This is Ancient Stars & Stripes, the first pattern I sold to the Better Homes & Gardens Quilt Catalog. Candy Wiza was the editor before that publication was discontinued. She is now acquisitions editor for Krause Publications and I enjoy working with her once again. |

Jellicle Cats is a quilt I did for an art group challenge to depict poetry in a quilt. I chose T.S. Elliot’s Song of the Jellicles from Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. The excerpt I used is “Jellicle Cats are black & white, Jellicle Cats are rather small, the Jellicle Moon is shining bright, Jellicles come to the Jellicle Ball”. I imagined that the cats there would be having a jolly old time partying in all kinds of ways. |

For the Fairies quilt I cut apart a pre-printed panel of fairy outline drawings, added a multi-colored pieced border, couched some decorative yarns, hand stitched beads and fused Angelina fibers to give an ethereal look to the piece. This was made for my daughter-in-law Chris, who loves anything related to fairies. |

Fleur de Lis is a piece done with fusible machine appliqué for the center motif and the cornerstone design. I enjoy using fusibles in my work and doing most everything by machine. This quilt was made to showcase a new line of fabrics, Prairie Winds, for Windham Fabrics at Spring Market in 2006. |

These are 2 quilts I designed using the same pattern from the Holiday Quilts book, released May 2007 by Krause Publications and show the different looks that can be achieved by using the holiday fabrics as opposed to using some everyday fabrics for year-round use. The fabrics pictured on the cover of the book and the blue holiday quilt is from our Tannenbaum line and were designed by Yolanda. The book is available on our site as is the Tannenbaum fabric line which is also available in red, green and blue on our site. |
